"Frequently Asked Questions"
"Why use Downtown Bicycle Couriers (DBC)?"
We are faster, cheaper and more efficient than local car delivery services. We’re independently-operated, locally-owned and 100% emissions-free. Our extensive work experience enables us to offer the polite, professional service you expect and deserve.
"How do I pay for my delivery?"
DBC Vouchers are used as payment. Ask our Dispatcher or any one of our couriers for information on our vouchers. Please make checks payable to: Downtown Bicycle Couriers Ltd.
"What kind of messages do you deliver?"
We are rarely called upon to deliver actual “messages” but we do pick up a variety of items from envelopes and small boxes. We’ll transport anything that fits in a courier bag unless it’s illegal, toxic or extremely heavy. We do not carry edibles such as lunch or dinner but we can deliver gifts like candy or wine.
"Do you ride in the rain?"
DBC is open all year regardless of heat, rain or flooding (when it rains in POS). The messenger bags we carry are weatherproof but we ask that you please package all items with bicycle transport in mind.
"Can you deliver after 4:00 pm?"
All single pieces to be delivered in the Port-of-Spain area which are picked up before 3:00pm will be delivered that day (providing the destination location is still open). If you have multiple pieces to be delivered, please call to have them picked up before 12:00 Noon. You can contact us if you have special delivery needs. We will work with you to get your parcel to wherever it needs to go, whenever it needs to get there.
"Where in Port of Spain do you cover?"
DBC goes as far as Long Circular Rd (North), Wrightson Road (South), West Mall, Westmoorings (West) and Charlotte Street (East). View our MAP OF PORT OF SPAIN.
"Do you do bank transactions, bill payments, V.A.T & B.I.R?"
Yes. Our couriers would pay VAT, BIR, NIS, Flow, TSTT, T&TEC, WASA, Bank Transactions and any other transactions you may have. Note: Try to avoid paying your Flow bill at the end of the month as the lines are rediculously long.
